expatriates and foreigners in Switzerland for nearly 28 years.
World of Languages education offers a variety of courses for Swiss German to familiarize newcomers with the language that they find themselves surrounded by on a day-to-day basis. Whether you just intend to understand the basics of everyday situations in this old German dialect or you want to learn it solidly, we choose the appropriate course material and develop a course suited to your individual needs.

Swiss German-Course was designed to help people who have just moved to Switzerland with their everyday experiences. Fundamental language elements have been divided into easy-to-learn units for these 90-minute lessons. They are based on everyday situations:
- Bank/post office
- Emergencies
- Finding one's way in the city
- Introduction and etiquette
- Health system
- Domestic services
- Money and figures
- Public transport
- Restaurants and going out
- Road rules, radars
- Food, clothing, buying household articles
- Telephoning
The 90-minute lessons take place on our premises in the heart of Zurich and simultaneously lend themselves to meeting other people who are new to Zurich and who also want to know more about their new environment. This course is conducted in Swiss German and may be taken in small groups (up to 4 students) or as private lessons (one-to-one)

Rolling admissions: starting a course is possible any time!
The lessons take place in our premises at Stauffacher, 10 mins walk from the Zurich main station, at your home or at your place of work using one of our mobile teachers or to the on-line service Skype / Zoom, an e-learning format we have used for many years with only positive results.
